The 2022-2023 APIA Scholarship recipient for Cypress College is Duc Hoa Nguyen. He is originally from Vietnam, a first generation college student, and is majoring in electrical engineering. Duc has been in involved with engineering projects at Cal Poly Pomona and received a research offer from the University of Minnesota to work on a project to improve patient care through telepresence robots. He has previously volunteered at a children’s charity whose mission was to provide disadvantaged Vietnamese children with access to education and a better life.
